The Value in Immersive, Simulation-based Learning

Insight Experience was founded on the belief that leaders could better understand the connection between their leadership decisions and behavior and the results they drive in their projects and business. We also recognized that many business simulation experiences focus heavily on business strategy, strategy execution, and operational and tactical decisions. So, we wanted to marry leadership skills—such as communicating with people, better understanding those working for you, and leading through your leaders and others—with those other decisions. It's that combination that truly produces the best outcomes in any organization.

As adults, we develop most of our experience through the work that we do. A business simulation experience allows you to inject that kind of work into a classroom environment. It creates a comfort level, helping people open up as leaders and become vulnerable, while also allowing them to practice new skills they’re learning in the context of their business. A business simulation, when done well, has a context that's extremely relevant and realistic.

We have delivered simulation learning programs to audiences of various sizes—from as small as 12 people to as many as 300 in a room at one time. It’s important to note that through creativity, you can design a program that meets the needs of any audience size. We believe that we have a simulation platform that provides the foundation to create a highly customized experience within just two or three months. This platform is also rich enough that, if a fully customized experience isn’t desired for various reasons, the experience can still feel very realistic and relevant.

We have expert facilitators who are also business people. They have graduated from top business schools, worked for major corporations, and lived these leadership paths themselves. They have also facilitated hundreds, if not thousands, of leaders through these types of experiences. They bring with them a wealth of history, allowing them to offer participants not only what they understand the leadership and organization is looking for—based on the process we use prior to any program—but also examples from their own leadership experience and other organizations. These stories help illustrate the various content and frameworks we introduce.

We also want to leverage technology in our platform to make the learning experience even more powerful. We constantly look for new technological changes and tools that we can integrate to provide learners with an even more realistic and relevant experience. Many times, these technological elements are invisible to the participants.
